4. A nice transition from the overwrought concept albums of mid 70s Kinks – and a shift into tighter, shorter, more condensed tunes that got the group firmly back on track! The concepts here are each confined to the space of a single tune – taking Ray and the group back to the best LP, Vinyl record album.

5. Face To Face. It took a while for The Kinks to find their stride as album artists. Their self-titled debut is mostly cover material, which was never their strong suit, while ’65s double shot of Kinda Kinks and The Kink Kontroversy have many high points but suffer in the consistency lindrinsalongasttortudustsusongtranal.xyzinfo To Face is where it all comes together for the first time on a full-length.

6. Apparently, the recording of The Kinks’ second album was very rushed, recorded and released in an amazing two weeks, and Ray Davies was never happy with the sound of it. 7. "You Really Got Me'', which they have included on this first LP shot to No. 1 in four weeks. Ray, the leader of the Kinks, is 20 and almost 6 feet tall. He composes, listens to what the others have to say about his compositions and then they record what he originally wrote!
